1 Scope
This part of GB/T 30240 specifies relevant terms and definitions, translation methods and requirements, writing requirements and the like for the use of English in health care and medical area.
This part is applicable to English translation and writing of name of health care and medical institution, medical service information as well as special medical name.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following term and definition apply.
3.1
health care and medical institution
the organization or institution with functions regarding medical treatment, prevention, healthcare, medical education and scientific research
4 Translation Methods and Requirements
4.1 Name of health care and medical institution
4.1.1 "醫(yī)院" is translated as Hospital; those such as "診所", "防治所", "衛(wèi)生室" and "醫(yī)務室" are translated as "Clinic"; "療養(yǎng)院" is generally translated as Sanatorium or Convalescent Hospital; "護理醫(yī)院" is generally translated as Nursing Home or Nursing Hospital.
4.1.2 The branch of hospital is translated as Branch Hospital and connected with the subject general hospital with of; or it may be written in "name of the general hospital, proper name + Branch", e.g. Huashan Hospital, Baoshan Branch.
4.1.3 The affiliation shall be translated for university affiliated hospital, "附屬" is translated as Affiliated or may be omitted by putting the university name after the name of hospital and separating them with ",". For example Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated with (or to) Fudan University or Zhongshan Hospital (The Affiliated Hospital of Fudan University), or simply Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University.
4.1.4 "醫(yī)保定點醫(yī)療機構" is translated as Medical Insurance Designated Hospital or Medical Insurance Designated Clinic; "醫(yī)保定點藥房" is translated as Medical Insurance Designated Pharmacy.
4.1.5 Names of other medical institutions shall be translated and written according to 5.1 in GB/T 30240.1-2013. Specific provisions are given in Annex A.
4.2 Medical service information
4.2.1 "中醫(yī)" is translated as Traditional Chinese Medicine or abbreviated to TCM.
4.2.2 The generic term of "門診部" is Outpatient Department and that of "急診部" is Emergency Department; branch department of outpatient department and emergency department is generally referred to as Department. The generic term of "住院部" is Inpatient Department or Inpatient Ward; branch ward of inpatient department is generally referred to as Ward or Department. For example "門急診部的血液科" may be translated as Hematology Department and "住院部的血液科" may be translated as Hematology Ward or Hematology Department.
4.2.3 Plural form may be adopted in translating and writing outpatient department, emergency department and inpatient department of large scale, e.g. Outpatient Departments.
4.2.4 Department in the name of outpatient department, emergency department and branch department may be omitted when the mark is used for indicating location and shall be reserved when the mark is used for indicating direction, e.g. "血液科" may be simply translated as Hematology when it is arranged at the door of consulting room of hematology department and shall be completed translated as Hematology Department when it is set at waiting area for indicating the direction of consulting room of hematology department.
4.2.5 Outpatient services of different categories and set in allusion to special disease or special requirement are translated as Clinic which cannot be omitted. For example, Fever Clinic and Expert Clinic, in which the Clinic shall not be omitted.

1 范圍
GB/T 30240的本部分規(guī)定了醫(yī)療衛(wèi)生領域英文翻譯和書寫的相關術語和定義、翻譯方法和要求、書寫要求等。
本部分適用于醫(yī)療衛(wèi)生機構名稱、醫(yī)療服務信息、醫(yī)學專用名稱的英文譯寫。

醫(yī)療衛(wèi)生機構health care and medical institution
具有醫(yī)療、預防、保健、醫(yī)學教育和科研功能的單位或機構。
4翻譯方法和要求
4.1 醫(yī)療衛(wèi)生機構名稱
4.1.1 醫(yī)院譯作Hospital；診所、防治所、衛(wèi)生室、醫(yī)務室等譯作Clinic；療養(yǎng)院一般譯作Sanatorium，也可譯作Convalescent Hospital；護理醫(yī)院一般譯作Nursing Home，也可譯作Nursing Hospital。
4.1.2醫(yī)院的分院譯作Branch Hospital，用of連接所隸屬的總院名稱；也可采用“總院名稱，專名+Branch”的譯寫方法，如：華山醫(yī)院寶山分院Huashan Hospital，Baoshan Branch。
4.1.3大學附屬醫(yī)院需要譯出隸屬關系時，“附屬”譯作Affiliated；也可省去不譯，將大學名稱置于醫(yī)院名稱之后，中間用“，”隔開。如復旦大學附屬中山醫(yī)院，可以譯作Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated with(或to)Fudan University或Zhongshan Hospital(The Affiliated Hospital of Fudan University)，也可簡譯作Zhongshan Hospital，F(xiàn)udan University。
4.1.4 醫(yī)保定點醫(yī)療機構譯作Medical Insurance Designated Hospital或Medical Insurance Designated Clinic；醫(yī)保定點藥房譯作Medical Insurance Designated Pharmacy。
4.1.5其他醫(yī)療機構名稱的譯寫應符合GB/T 30240.1—2013中5.1的各項要求。具體譯法參見附錄A。
4.2醫(yī)療服務信息
4.2.1 中醫(yī)譯作Traditional Chinese Medicine，可以縮寫為TCM。
4.2.2 門診部總稱譯作Outpatient Department；急診部總稱譯作Emergency Department；門、急診部的分科診室一般譯作Department。住院部總稱譯作Inpatient Department或Inpatient Ward；住院部的分科病房一般譯作Ward，也可譯作Department。如：門急診部的血液科可譯作Hematology Depart-ment，住院部的血液科可譯作Hematology Ward或Hematology Department。
4.2.3譯寫較大規(guī)模的門急診部和住院部時可采用復數(shù)，如：門診部Outpatient Departments。
4.2.4 門、急診部及其分科診室名稱中的Department在標志用于指示處所時可以省略，但在標志用于指示方位時應當譯出，如血液科：在設置于血液科診室門口的標志中可以簡單譯作Hematology，但在設置于候診區(qū)域指示血液科診室所處方位的標志中則應完整譯作Hematology Department。
4.2.5 針對特殊疾病或特殊需求而設立的不同類別的門診譯作Clinic，且不能省略。如：發(fā)熱門診Fever Clinic、專家門診Expert Clinic，其中的Clinic不能省略。
4.2.6其他醫(yī)療服務信息的譯寫應符合GB/T 30240.1—2013中5.2的各項要求。具體譯法參見附錄B。
4.3醫(yī)學專用名稱
醫(yī)療科別、檢查化驗項目、醫(yī)療措施、醫(yī)學保障設施等醫(yī)學專用名稱的譯寫應遵循醫(yī)學術語規(guī)范，具體譯法參見附錄C。
4.4詞語選用和拼寫方法
英文詞語選用和拼寫方法應符合GB/T 30240.1—2013中5.3的要求。
4.5語法和格式
英文人稱、時態(tài)、單復數(shù)用法和縮寫形式應符合GB/T 30240.1—2013中5.4的相關要求。
5 書寫要求
英文大小寫、標點符號、字體、空格、換行等的用法應符合GB/T 30240.1—2013中第6章的要求。
